What do you do exactly?
We automatically schedule events between you and your friends based on mutual interests and available times. When you sign up, you're asked to input the times that you're usually unavailable (e.g. Mon-Fri, 9-5), input the types of events you're interested in (e.g. going to pubs, bowling, skydiving, etc.), and invite your friends. We compare your availabilities with those of your friends and suggest events you're most likely to be interested in.
Why are you doing this?
We believe that technology has strengthened our connectivity but weakened our proximity to others. A friend is not a blip from a screen; a friend is someone you share experiences with and get to know personally. Our automated suggestions simplify the event scheduling process which helps our users see more of their friends more often.
How do I sign up?
If you have been invited, visit our homepage and complete the form to start the signup process. If you haven't been invited, you can do the same, but you will be required to invite your friends before you can start the signup process. You need to invite them to get the best experience from Sphere anyway, but for non-invited signups, this step is mandatory.
I can organize events on my own, why should I sign up?
If you're usually busy and find it difficult to juggle work with maintaining your social life, we find the few times that are best for you to meet with friends and eliminate the usual back-and-forth texting required to schedule an event. If you want to meet with a group of people, it's very hard to find the best time to meet, let alone find an activity that everyone agrees on. We take care of this. If you aren't one to initiate the creation of events—even informal ones with your friends—we take care of getting you to more events that will help you rediscover some of your friends. We have something for everyone.
What's the difference between you and other events services?
The biggest difference is that there is no need for any manual input for the creation of an event. Our suggestions are fully automated, making it possible to schedule an event with the best possible time, place, and participants. It would be highly inefficient—if not impossible—to manually determine these attributes for every event you have without the use of automation.
